I know that it's a tough ask, but here are a few things you could do as a family and reconnect without having to spend a fortune on summer camps.

So much to do and see and great opportunities to get up close and personal with farm animals and more!

6. Duke Lemur Centre
All tours need to be pre-booked and sometimes a few weeks ahead, so plan that outing - its a lovely experience.

7. Morehead Planetarium
Have fun finding starry shapes in the sky with Big Bird and friends this summer.

8. Catch a Movie
With Regal Cinemas and Cinemark offering kids movies for from $1 each, this has to be a fun way to keep cool and out of the summer heat!

9. Visit your local Swimming Pool
Thats always fun for kids and it makes them tired and hungry!

10. Of course there are many, many parks where you can pack a picnic, take some time out get some fresh air. Probably best to plan an evening picnic or even a breakfast one in the middle of summer - thats something the kids always enjoy! You can even get them to help you make and pack a picnic too!
